Photo comp shines a light on workers of Monash

Thanks to everyone who entered our Businesspeople of Monash Photo Competition and sent in photos showing the faces behind their business.

We loved seeing all the photos of smiling, happy people popping up in our inbox and wanted to share our favourites with you.

The winner of the competition was Griffiths Bros. Coffee Roasters of Mulgrave for this great shot (taken by photographer Lauren Bamford) of Directors Chris Togias and Peter Patisteas, brothers-in law who run this family business.

Griffiths Bros Coffee Roasters were buzzing to have won the competition.

‘This shot behind the roastery door captured Chris and Pete’s chemistry,’ said Courtney Sims, Griffiths Bros Group Marketing Manager.

For their efforts, Griffiths Bros. will receive the first prize of two tickets to the next Monash Business Awards lunch event.

The second prize winner in the competition is Alpha Hearing of Mt Waverley for this social distancing inspired photo of the business’s Michael Wong and Lisa Glossop.

Michael said they were ‘demonstrating how staying apart, keeps us together’ during the pandemic.

And the third prize winner in the competition is Jenny Chua for this joyful photo from ‘Cooking with Jenny in Melbourne’, a Chinese New Year event host by Notting Hill Neighbourhood House.

A special mention too for this competition entry of Damien ‘Damo’ White from OASIS Coffee (also photographed by Lauren Bamford) – which brought a smile to our face.

OASIS is a Greek & Turkish style coffee, also produced by Griffiths Bros. Coffee Roasters at their Mulgrave roastery. Damo is a Production Assistant at the roastery and has been a valued member of the team since 1993.

And a shout-out to Mt Waverley’s Crown Posture Bedding, one of our Monash Business Awards nominees, for their photo entries.

The black and white image features the business’s Darren Paone, Helen Paone and Dean Bubunaras, and the colour photo shows Koula in their mattress manufacturing factory.

Thanks again to everyone who entered the photo competition.
