Nominate for a Monash Business Award

Nominating for a Monash Business Award gives businesses the opportunity to showcase their products and services, generate positive publicity and demonstrate professional integrity.

Awards are available in a variety of categories, enabling businesses to choose how best to present their business or particular activities. Nominations open on July 1 every year and close at 5pm, May 31 the following year.

So, do you know of a local business with a special something that sets them apart? Maybe that’s your business. If so, nominate now. All businesses located in the City of Monash region are eligible to apply.

All businesses located in the City of Monash region are eligible to apply for a Monash Business Award. You can nominate your own business or another business in the region. Simply choose the appropriate category from the options below that best fits the business you wish to nominate.

Innovation & Technology

The Innovation and Technology category is open to businesses that have created, nurtured and developed new, differentiated products or services. They have contributed to the invention, design, production, performance, marketing and distribution of their product or service. They do this while being willing to develop, organise and manage a business venture along with any of its risks in order to make a profit.

Health & Science

Health and Science category is open to businesses that provide services or scientific products that enhance the health and well-being of their customers. They consistently exceed expectations by providing quality services and experiences.

Micro Business

The Micro Business category is for businesses employing up to five people. It is open to those that operate in any industry including trades, health services and retail. They can be either a sole trader, home-based, public or private organisation.

Professional Services

This category is open to businesses that provide services that support or enhance their customer’s ability to grow, including legal, accounting, management consulting, marketing, communications and advertising; technical design and architecture, industrial design and service, architecture, industrial design and surveying; information technology services, software development and technology integration; financial services, insurance services.

Not for Profit

The Not for Profit category is open to those that have made significant contribution to the community through volunteering, financial support, pro-bono assistance or mentoring Business and support. They have developed strong partnerships with industry and have provided services to enhance the well-being of the local community. As a Not for Profit organisation, you may have identified and/or provided job and training advantage to those that are socially disadvantaged. Dedicated community service organisations are considered as well as schools, training organisations and sporting clubs.

Transport / Trade / Manufacturing / Construction (T/T/M/C)

If your business operates in the transport, trade, manufacturing or construction space this is the category for you. Businesses nominating in this category should show exemplary customer service while demonstrating new, innovative or refined ways of meeting a need and contributing to the local Monash area and/or beyond.

Food Services

Do you run a cafe or restaurant? Do you manufacturer or supply food and related products? This category is for you. Businesses entering this category excel in customer service and/or product development. They may have come up with a unique product or service, new ways to connect with their customer base and/or support their local community.

Awards Process

The Monash Business Awards are run on a financial year basis. The process begins with you submitting an online application in an award category. You can nominate your own business or another business that you believe is doing a great job. If accepted you will be invited to present at an MBA event with the next step being an on-site meeting at your business.

Who should apply? 

Our awards speak to the standout businesses in Monash who go above and beyond. Awards are offered in a range of categories representing the variety of what is done in our region. Whether the business you represent is a home based business, a large national head office or something in between, we encourage you to apply. Businesses can self-nominate or be nominated by an external client or contact. 

To be eligible for an Award, businesses must be located within the City of Monash boundary. Check the map to ensure you qualify.

Monash Business of the Year Award 

The Monash Business of the Year is chosen by the MBA Committee from each year’s Award category winners. It is awarded to the business that demonstrates outstanding leadership and has contributed the greatest value to the Monash community. All businesses that have been recognised as finalists are automatically eligible for the Business of the Year Award. No additional entry material is required.
